The International Wine Challenge
WILLIAM REED BUSINESS MEDIA
L’International Wine Challenge (IWC) is the most respected bandaged wine tasting contest in the world. Rate each wine for its loyalty to the type, region and vintage ideal.
The rigorous evaluation process implies that every wine that has won a medal in the competition has been tasted on three separate occasions, by at least 10 different judges.
The IWC is divided into Tranche 1 and 2, which together constitute the actual IWC 2016 competition. The assessment for the first tranche takes place in November and the results are announced in December. The evaluation of the second tranche instead takes place in April and the related results are disclosed in May. Each wine producer has the right to decide which period best suits his calendar and consequently to which tranche register, whether the first or the second.
